A small report on the native fish. Fished Mulwala friday arvo/night, the day was perfect very little wind which ment the water clarity was pretty good. Landed one cod @ 59cm around 5.30 on a ratlling clouser. Come the evening it was looking great the moon was up with no wind, my first run along the bank had a surface attack on my foamberge, leaving my fly sit the cod again swirled under the fly but no strike. I stripped back and recast another two swirls under the fly no strike. Unfortunatley that was it for the night. For some reason the surface action never happened. I camped on the bank with an early start 4.30am. Fishing the surface again I could only get a swirl under the fly once again. Changing flies to get down along the bottom I had a nice cod follow the fly right to the boat but could not get a strike. Around 10.30am I landed a small cod around 45cm on a purple gusto. Leaving Mulwala at Noon. The trip was good with out being great fish seem to be getting active but not fully switch on. The cod I landed on Friday also followed the fly right to the boat before striking. How many others had a look I don't know.
